Graduate Studies: Master of Science in General Engineering

The Department of Engineering Technology offers a practice-oriented Masters degree in General Engineering. This program is designed for employed engineers and may be taken on a part-time basis. Most of the classes required by this program are available in an online web-based distance learning format.

The part-time MS in General Engineering program is specifically designed for technical professionals and provides the opportunity for people employed by private industry, government, or non-profit organizations to stay current with the latest technology while remaining a productive employee. This cross-disciplinary program combines study in business management and engineering and presents an alternative to a traditional business management or technical Master of Science degree. Students in our program typically have a background in engineering, science, or technology and seek to further their career development with a degree that builds management skills - while sharpening their technical capabilities.

Students can start the program any semester. The program consists of 30 credits of graduate work including 9 credit hours of Engineering Core, 9 credit hours of Business Core, 6 credit hours of work-related project, and 9 credit hours of engineering electives form a specific area of engineering (usually related to the student's background).
